Our course is only taught in English. Students must be:

  • at least 16 years old within 30 days of enrolling
  • read, speak and write English on a 10th grade level
  • able to see and perform nail services
  • valid government issued Photo ID 
     

Our course is only offered by a English Speaking Instructor. We do not offer any other languages. 

Translation textbooks are not included in our course cost. The state offers the licensing exam (taken after completion of our course) in Vietnamese, Korean and Spanish. No other nail licensing exam languages are offered in Virginia at this time.

  • Students will study 23 chapters online study to prepare for practice tests online
     
  • Students will use online study & online practice test to prepare for testing here at the school.
     
  • There are 3 tests taken here at the school that must average 78% or higher (to pass our course and be able to take the state exam for licensing).
     
  • A final score under 78% is a failed course here (without the ability to take the state exams to get licensed). 

 

Required ID options to take the course (pick one)

  1. Virginia DMV ID or a VA Driver's License (and was never issued a social security card/number)
     
  2. Any state Driver's License + a Social Security Card
     
  3. Passport + Virginia DMV ID or Driver's License
     
  4. Passport + Social Security Card
     
  5. Alien Resident ID with photo + Social Security work number/card

     

Translators in-class rules (students can bring a translator to class as needed)

  1. Translator must show a State or Government issued Photo ID to be in the classroom
     
  2. Translator can NOT be licensed in Cosmetology, Esthetics, Nails or Waxing
     
  3. Translator can NOT be currently enrolled in cosmetology, esthetics, nail or waxing course
     
  4. Translator can sit in class during lecture to translate but NOT during testing time
     
  5. Video or voice recording is NOT allowed in our classrooms during lectures
